It's Only Money
When one hears the phrase, It's only money, Congress comes to mind especially with the last continuing resolution funny money spending bill of 2024. At this point, most people know that the USA federal government narrowly avoided a serious government shutdown on December 21, 2024 with the passage of the last spending bill of 2024. This bill originally was more than 1,000 pages and was finally reduced (in the bill that passed) to about 118 pages. What most others will not tell the public is that while the page count was reduced, the pork was not cut. In fact, the bill that was pased introduces about another $5 trillion dollars in govenment spending. This is on top of the nearly $2 trillion treasury deficit; $1.8 trillion to be exactly. To put it bluntly, the USA government is spending $1.8 trillion, more, in cash than it brings in annually via taxation and other income sources.
What is amazing more than anything is the incredible amount of misinformation and flat out lies associated with financial state of affairs of the federal government. Bottom line: no matter which political party one supports, if any, most people would frown on a company that continually spends money that it does not have, without limits, rhyme nor reason, yet when it comes to the federal government most Americans live in a bubble and do not see the reality of where this spending problem is headed. Even worse, where is the money going?
Do the Washington bereaucrats even know where the money is going? No they do not nor do they have any concern. This has become a dirty game of chicken. And eventually in the game of chicken...fried chicken becomes a full course meal. With all the social upheaval in the country lead by this so-called WOKE-ness, what happens when WOKE-ness cripples the ability of the military to function? Let that sink in. And then there are these rising nations known as BRICS who would delight themselves in the opportunity to unseat the USA.
Perhaps, its time the USA grows up and acts like a sovereign nation rather than a bunch of spoiled entitled brats, who do not know whether they are coming or going. The country is more than $36 trillion in debt, as confirmed by Congress, and there is no plan forward except the same wasteful spending fights, race agenda, party politics, finger pointing, and so forth. And, again, where is the money going? No one knows, it is a fact that Congress has come on the record stating that, as of the last budget cycle, Congress knows not the whereabouts of $100 billion in spending.
Oh and how do you give yourself a 3.9% raise, as Congress just did in the bloated spending bill, when Congress admits it cannot account for $100 billion in spending? Let alone the complete inablity to manage the national deficit. This is Alice in Wonderland governance. And Alice just got a whole new wardrobe complements of Congress, the same Congress who complains of inflation, war spending, welfare and national disaster assistance -- but has tens of millions to give themselves raises for piss poor performance.
Merry Christmas.
