Censorship in a nutshell is the use of tactics, often draconian, to muffle freedom of the press, with respect to public awareness of misfeasance or even worse malfeasance of public officials in the performance of their duties. Quite often, on the rare occasions in which issues regarding public corruption are actually addressed by the press, the focal point is oh too often on smaller underdeveloped countries which typically, as a general rule, experience elevated levels of public corruption.
Censorship is not simply a problem relegated to smaller underdeveloped countries; but rather often carried out by larger well developed first (and second) world countries. To wit, censorship of freedom of the press is an extremely serious and growing problem in the Americas. The focal point here is upon: the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Censorship is often realized through limiting or restricting the circulation of stories, breaking news, articles, press releases, etc., on a widespread basis such as to suppress the circulation of newsworthy information. Smaller news outfits and individual journalists or of a small group basis are low hanging fruit for censorship. The primary reason for targeting small news outfits and individual journalists is that is where the rubber meets the road; the incubator where real news stories are born. Smaller news outfits and individual journalists are often targeted with censorship as it simply becomes a game of economics e.g. pay to play which even then is, often, met with restrictions assuming the publishing cost hurdle is crossed.
In no uncertain terms, there is a direct link between the decline in the freedom of the press and dictatorship. A given public office was never meant to be owned or permanently controlled by anyone; but, rather occupied by an incumbent contingent upon his/her performance of duties within the ambit of powers bestowed upon the office of the incumbent – not the incumbent specifically. Thus, no person (at least in a democratic form of government) can legitimately make a claim of possessing the authority to silence or muffle the press as a legitimate power bestowed upon any such public office or the holder of said office. Furthermore, on its face culpability becomes apparent when censorship is activated, since for the most part there are only two types of stories which affect the behavior of public officials: Damaging and Embellished. As to the latter, these are the type of stories prone to Hollywood, celebrities, public officials in the limelight, and so worth. These type of stories are short on facts and heavy on hyperbole pursuant the shaping of appearances. Thus, embellished stories offer no legitimate threat to a public official; but, rather are act more so as an annoyance or as a personal nuisance to public officials.
Damaging stories, on the other hand, are very often fact based and illustrate some type of behavior, often of pattern, with respect to abuse of power, clear civil violations, and/or criminal activity. Thus, damaging stories and their journalist authors are frequently targeted with censorship. Legalhowater falls in this category and continues to be targeted with censorship via mass media outlets, and search engines to name a few. For those of you who may recall, this current administration under President Trump, previously from 2020-2024, had been screaming from the rooftops that the former President Biden administration had censored a number of republican officials on Facebook and other media outlets. Notwithstanding the same, Legalhotwater has been directly targeted with censorship under both the President Biden and Trump administrations.
Quote:
“Excerpt: Free societies do not fear free speech – even when that speech is hateful, malignant or stupid. Free societies recognize that the only way to separate fact from fiction, love from hate, truth from lies, wisdom from folly or good from evil, is to put them side by side and trust the people to know the difference. No central authority must ever be given the power to take this vital freedom away from the people or to punish anyone solely for expressing their opinions.” Congressman Tom McClintock (CA), September 29, 2025 – In re the Censure of representative Ilhan Omar (MN).
This quote on its face illustrates reality from politicians and their news sound bites designed to arouse their respective political base. Here you have a sitting Congressman McClintock advocating for freedom of speech, whereas his colleague Ilhan Omar (MN) was accused of and ultimately censored for allegedly making critical statements against the USA and/or advocating for its enemies abroad. So Congressman McClintock rushes to the aid of his colleague to protect her freedom of speech right, despite the supposed nature of her statements – especially allegedly uttered in a public office leadership position; but, Legalhotwater is censored for newsworthy information related to the Department of Justice’s international espionage and $100,000 USD in unpaid damages (excluding interest) and a criminal cover up related thereto. All 100% verifiable fact based, no opinions, no hyperbole – just the raw uncut facts. But the truth hurts, and these politicians do not want the truth out and about, especially since these damaging issues are at the hands of republicans. The same GOP Republican Party which alleged for the last four (4) years that everything was all President Biden’s fault. Well, even if so – who is at fault now? The YouTube video link is listed at the top of this article. Google is, now, blocking that YouTube video since the release of this article. So you can view this politican's statements below. Are you starting to see the pattern with these Christian politicians and consistent allegations of abuse of power and/or public corruption?

Perhaps this type of politicizing of freedom of speech to mislead the public is par for the course, as the USA for all intents and purposes can be considered a failed state. The USA is currently more than $38 Trillion (with a 'T' not a 'B') in debt, with no conceivable equation whereas the USA's massive breathtaking debt load will ever be paid. With this type of debt load, these type of evasive rabbit hole behaviors become prevalent. Perhaps the USA's debt load, also, speaks to its ongoing rift with China, with the USA owes somewhere in the neighborhood between $6-$9 Trillion USD. This is what happens when extreme financial mismanagement occurs -- the instigating of wars expecting that the USA military will help erase the debt to China from the books. And while the USA is at it, why not lie, cover up defalcation, fraud, and international espionage of the Department of Justice, to wipe out the $100,000 unpaid debt the Department of Justice owes to Legalhotwater? And this is just one legal case, there is at least one other legal case with Legalhotwater involving the Department of Justice related to one or more civil tort claims. Clearly, the Department of Justice is a misnomer. And once again let's highlight the fact that the Department of Justice is led by bible toting faith glorifying Christian Republicans i.e. Pam Bondi and Kash Patel; both appionted by President Trump (also purportedly a bible toting faith glorifying Christian), who for his second term is enbroilled in endless litigation with third parties over allegations of abuse of powers, and public corruption.
The scope of the following three (3) page document release is the heart of the second criminal cover up of the USA federal government with respect to its intelligence agencies i.e., the FBI and CIA, both of which are led by white supremacists; incidentally both of which answer to President Trump. The Declaratory Judgment Act has been an independent cause of action for nearly 100 years, now, all of a sudden when fraud on behalf of white supremacists and the pat on the head “be a Good Negro{s)" doing their bidding is raised in court, then all of a sudden the woke black judge needs a law refresher 101 course as she is too brazen incompetent to understand the scope of the Declaratory Judgment Act, or her white supremacist bosses directed her to dismiss the case. This is yet another example of how the United States Federal Courts are rife and overrun with public corruption, and why the USA is the most despised country on the globe. There is a lot going on in this case which the public corruption gods have been working overtime to keep out of public spectrum -- like how Blacks have been legally embezzling money since 2020 and how Whites concocted this criminal scheme of mental incapacity to cover up flat out crimes of the high-ranking officials of the FBI and CIA, ante (which agencies per their own statements and admissions -- are led by their white christian god). The wait is over, these three (3) pages of the official court stamped appeal document illustrate the persisent criminal nature of the Department of Justice: an agency, again, led and run by white supremacist republicans.

Censorship is a grave enough problem such that it should fuel outrage and provoke immediate corrective action, if by none other than the freedom of the press foundation. Ironically, the foregoing censorship behavior persists and no such parallel entity has contacted Legalhotwater to mitigate this problem. This press censorship conciliatory factor, also, illustrates the link between censorship, public corruption and the erosion of integrity in the press as, again, it becomes an economic survival of the fittest exercise e.g. he who alleges to operate under the freedom of the press banner dismisses the realities of the erosion of freedom of the press as long as it does not affect that particular press outfit and as long as that same press outfit has the deep pockets to navigate any attempts to censor it. What generally becomes of this condition is the inevitable decline in the quality of news stories, ante, e.g. shift from damaging to embellished new stories considering embellished news is far more eye-popping and sells more subscriptions; the subscriptions required to play the zero sum game of economics to stay afloat in the press playing field.
United States – a steady decline from the high‑70s in 2014 to the high‑60s in 2023, slipping three places in the 2023 ranking (45ᵗʰ) per rsf.org. The drop reflects growing legal‑framework concerns, increased violence against journalists, and “fake‑content” pressures noted by rsf.org.
Canada – modest upward movement; the score rose from the mid‑80s in 2014 to a peak of 76 in 2023, moving four places up to rank 15ᵗʰ. The improvement is largely driven by stronger institutional safeguards and a “satisfactory” rating in the 2023 per wikipedia.org.
Mexico – persistently low scores (≈ 30) with a slight dip to 26 in 2023, placing it at rank 128ᵗʰstatista.com. Violence against reporters, impunity, and weak legal protections keep the country in the “Not Free” tier.

*Scores are taken from the World Press Freedom Index (Reporters Without Borders). Higher numbers indicate greater freedom; the index runs 0 → 100.
Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) scores (0 = highly corrupt, 100 = very clean) for the same year (2023) are:

Pattern: Higher press‑freedom scores tend to coincide with higher CPI scores (i.e., less perceived corruption).
Chart Interpretation -
U.S.A – moderate press freedom (68) and a mid‑range CPI (65). Recent declines in media independence may be contributing to the modest drop in CPI.
Canada – relatively high press freedom (76) aligns with a strong CPI (75), suggesting robust oversight and transparency mechanisms.
Mexico – very low press freedom (26) matches a poor CPI (26), underscoring how censorship, violence, and impunity create fertile ground for corruption.
These three data points echo the broader academic finding that media freedom is a strong predictor of lower perceived corruption.
